Firm History
The firm originated in 1978 with the acquisition of a handful of clients from Robert R. Milroy, PhD, JD, CPA, by N. Richard Olson, CPA. Ric joined the Milroy practice upon graduation from Indiana University in 1974.
A second office was opened in Bedford in 1978. Since then, our practice has expanded through key alliances with other leading professionals in law, banking and financial services.
Stephanie Cobb, CPA joined the firm in 1998. She is a 1995 graduate of Indiana University. Today, Stephanie is a shareholder and Vice-President of practice operations.

Today, Olson & Company offers services to its clients in the areas of accounting, tax compliance and planning, management advisory services, and computer consulting and support. We are Solution Providers. Going beyond traditional compliance work by identifying business and personal tax and financial needs, we help our clients maximize their wealth and peace of mind.
Beyond tax returns, our goal is to understand you and your business. We want to help solve the problems that keep you up at night. We serve our clients with ideas as well as traditional accounting skills. We feel that personalized planning is the key to our clients' success.
Community Involvement
Olson & Company enjoys a reputation in the communities we serve as outstanding community leaders. In 2003, Ric Olson was recognized with the Public Service Award from the Indiana CPA Society. As a firm, we are committed to the following organizations: Bloomington Hospital, Dunn Memorial Hospital Foundation, Franklin Initiative, Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce and the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce.
